 So we took a trip to LA because we were thinking about moving there. We had read how awesome the temperatures are year round, and about the "master planned"communities in Orange County. We had also heard about the traffic, and traffic defined our first impression. We had flown in before a few times, but never drove through. I can only imagine how much LA can wear on a person who has to endure the traffic. And even if you "escape" to Orange Country, the traffic is still difficult there, and if you want to head North you have to pass through the intersection of the 405 and the 5, which are the two major interstates.
Then there is the smog. There is always a haze wherever you go, and though there are nice mountains in the distance, there is a haze between you and the mountains.
I found the North side of town to be maybe a little more scenic than the South end because the mountains are more majestic and varied. I'm sure there are also some nice beach areas to live if you can afford it.
Anyways, we have decided not to move to LA at this time. :) |
