The League of Decency has been together in one form or another since 1984. The current configuration is: bass, drums, guitar, sax, trombone, trumpet, and vocalist. That's 7 members for our public venue work, with an additional piano for corporate and society dates.

They play as much Swing as anybody in town and have for years. Much of what they do is coming from the darker side of town. They are largely influenced by Count Basie, Louis Jordan and Duke Ellington in Swing. They are great fans of the jump styles of Wynonie Harris and other RnB greats from the late forties and early 50's. They do a limited amount of music that begs for that West Coast rock-step. Once the neophytes get past that, they'll appreciate the large amount of material they have that can't be beat for East Coast triple-step, fox-trots and jitter-bug moves. If they have to do more than two sets of music in a night they'll will end up pulling out a bit of Blues and Funk. Rather than being a slave to what ever is the latest trendy trend, the League of Decency is always looking for music that is a good vehicle for the particular instrumentation of the band.

CD's, Recordings, Etc....

Swing, Soul & Rock'n'Roll
Jammin' recording from one of Atlanta's longest working bands. These guys were playing jump blues and swing when Scotty Morris was screaming punk songs and "the kid" was just that - a kid. Big Bad who? Big Bad Tommy Dean, that's who. Tommy and the League are ready to rumble and this CD will give you a taste of what you're in for when you check out their hot live show.
